Maariv: WIZO Youth Villages featured in article on unique education
19 August 2019A very special gathering took place yesterday when graduates of this year’s WIZO women’s leadership programs, including groups for secular, ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) and Druze women, were hosted in the Druze village of Daliyat El-Carmel for an evening of getting to know one another, sharing, and understanding. The initiative for this get-together came from the graduates themselves.
“As a secular woman, it was fascinating to meet the Haredi and Druze women who also completed WIZO’s leadership program,” said Galit Yacobya graduate of the Givatayim group who also works for World WIZO. “We discovered that we are really not so different. We all have the same goals, to improve lives in our communities and in Israel as a whole. Together, we are a real force.”
