Impacting women’s educational future – together
9 December 2024Please help us to enable victims to rebuild and restart their lives and continue to pursue their dreams.
Healing the emotional and psychological wounds of its citizens is vital for the future and stability of the State of Israel.
WIZO is uniquely qualified as the largest provider of social welfare in Israel, to deliver immediate, medium and long term emotional support to children and families from vulnerable and displaced populations.
WIZO is focused on implementing proven methods to achieve mental health sustainability and resilience by offering therapies and workshops which assist in coping, healing and regaining a sense of optimism, internal strength and normality.
Committed to restoring lives and rebuilding futures, WIZO recognises that time is of the essence for those facing trauma and PTSD.
WIZO’s emergency rehabilitation fund is supporting a traumatised nation suffering and dealing with the psychological fall out of the horrific events of 7th October. The impact of these brutal attacks together with the ongoing war cannot be underestimated and WIZO as a first responder must continue to be there for the needs of Israeli citizens.
Help us to continue to provide the following ongoing urgent needs throughout our 800 projects:
- Specialist psychological support, grief counselling, CBT and trauma management throughout our schools and centres to children, teenagers and adults.
- Our Open House in Sderot, providing support for the deeply traumatised families in this area.
- Additional social workers and counsellors to care for those suffering from the terror together with targeted support for our staff who are also experiencing trauma at this time.
- Emergency supplies for vulnerable and displaced communities fleeing the terror; over 24,000 food and clothing packages have already been distributed.
- Helplines for those displaced, whose partners have been called up for reserve duty and for victims of domestic violence.
- Emotional resilience programmes for our traumatised youth.
- Bomb shelters to protect the thousands of babies, toddlers, students and staff in our youth villages and Day Care Centres.
- Psychological support for the 250 Na’aleh students, in our youth villages, who emigrated to Israel alone without their families who have nowhere else to turn.
- Support for the 70 girls at high risk cared for at our centres in Be’er Sheva.
- 69 women and children seeking refuge in our shelters for victims of abuse.
- Care for our 120 elderly citizens, some Holocaust survivors, relocated to WIZO’s Parents’ Home.
